NATURAL Design

Straight from Mother Nature, where the only human touches have been the collection of the piece and you putting it where you want it. Each piece is therefore totally unique and its design has been crafted by time, weather and the jungle environment. Nature is the only artist that has been allowed to work on your new artwork and Oom Design’s job has been to carefully select only the very best sculptures and to show them in their best possible light.

CREATIONS

These are the pieces that are designers have created, using Nature as the raw inspiration. Our designers come from all over the world and have in common the desire to work with natural forms. Each designer uses the materials that they hold dear to them, but their differing cultures, traditions, knowledge and backgrounds allows them to bring new interpretations to each piece.
We can, also, create artworks based on YOUR ideas or designs. Do you want a unique work of art for your office, for your salon? Do you have a particular form or colour in mind? We are able, thanks to our close working habits with our designers, to create works of art using the same materials on offer for the readymade pieces, that will suit your needs and desires.
Our works of art exist in small form and can go up to monumental size, (3, 4 or 5 metres depending on your demands!)

ANTIQUES

While looking for these natural works of art, we often meet crafts people who live close to nature and who still use traditional tools. Many of them are now turning to modern methods of working and the old tools and the old crafts are disappearing, (as they have done in our continent, too), and we have decided that rather than let these tools perish with time, we will give you the opportunity of having a unique piece, a veritable work of art in its own right. Always out of the ordinary, sometimes strange, often curious, each piece has its own silent story to tell.

As with the sculptures from Nature, no single tool is the same. Handcrafted and worn with the patine of time, each tool has been carefully selected for its aesthetic value, and Oom Design presents the pieces in such a way as to bring out the best elements of each item.

In keeping with our overall philosophy of RESPECT FOR TRADITIONS AND AUTHENTICITY, this unique range of objects is brought to you only once we are sure that there is no negative impact on its original source. All crafts people are treated fairly and Oom Design does all it can to enable the forests and the people and creatures that it supports to continue to grow and thrive. We do this with a profound respect for our Earth, and all those that live on it.
